Today was my last day in Lima and I was getting ready to take a 21 hour bus ride to Cusco in preparation to hike to Machu Picchu.
I had about five hours before my bus left and I had noticed some para gliders in the sky from my hostel window. This immediately sparked my interest and I walked down to the waterfront to see if I could join them. The price was only 150 Soles (about $50 US) so I went ahead and did it.
It was actually the first sunny day since I had been in Lima so I thought it was the perfect way to end my time there. It was an absolutely awesome experience. Check out the video above to see the whole experience in action.

Hi, I’m Nate Bunger and the writer and entrepreneur behind this blog.
Over the past several years I've created, managed and sold several different businesses despite never finishing high school, making myself more or less financially free by the age of 25.
I used the realization that we can do anything in life if we are simply willing to set goals, find the answers we seek and never stop until we achieve what we set out for.
I currently teach people how to get clear on their purpose, create habits for massive change and bring their deepest desires into reality.
I operate my business from a Mac laptop while traveling around the world…My dream :)
This is sick man! I had no idea it was basically free flying with a parachute. This is something I would definately like to try. Also, I noticed the launch point and landing point were the same spot so I’m wondering – how do you maintain your altitude in one of these things? The views of downtown Lima are great!
This is much cooler than what I was envisioning which is being pulled behind a boat like all the other thousands of tourists haha! Keep it up, I’m excited to see what other adventures await.
This is a very unique area for para gliding..Notice the shape of the cliffs. This makes it so the wind coming off of the water blows straight up in the air making one able to maintain flight. It was truly awesome…Just got back from a 4 day trek to Macchu Picchu. I would have to say that it was easily one the top five experiences of my life so far, Heading to Puno today then off to Copacabana in Bolivia. I will have some new videos coming soon. Hope all is well
Wow, awesome video! That must have been quite a surreal experience flying over Peru like that! I was fortunate enough to Parasail over Marco Island in Florida a couple times though this is even more impressive gliding over Peru! Some great footage over the coastline with all the water and city below. Some cool looking landscape too. I may have to start living vicariously through you…Thanks for the inspiration and sharing this adventure with us. Very cool,so this is what it’s like to be a Freedom Architect!
