This is a guest post by Lisa Barone. If you haven’t noticed Personal branding is a huge passion of mine. It’s a must know subject for anyone looking to grow a business on the Internet and when I came across this article I knew it needed to have place on my blog. It is by far one of the best explanations I have read on the subject of finding ones voice, which is a process every writer goes through.
I have always loved writing and I think initially this was why I was so attracted to blogging. Although, I don’t feel I have arrived to that state of total connection with what I am supposed to be writing about, I feel I am indeed honing in on what is calling me.
This article is a brilliant explanation of the journey of finding ones voice..I hope you enjoy!

How I Switched From a PC to a MAC…

I have been thinking of switching to a Mac for a long time. I have owned at least 10 PCs in my life, and sadly nearly all of them have succumbed to viruses and spy-ware.
This year I had bought a new Compaq because my Gateway crashed. And not even four months after buying it, my Compaq was running so slow from some virus it had that I finally made the decision to make the switch once and for all.
Initially the biggest thing that was holding me back was learning the new OS (operating system) because at the time I had so many other things going on and the last thing I needed was to take on another learning curve.
What I found however, is that the Mac is much better organized and easier to use than the PCs I owned. If you commit to spend a half a day going through the basic tutorials, you will probably have a better idea of how to operate you new Mac than you ever did on your PC. That was my experience anyways.
The best thing about having a Mac is that it has made everything I am doing with my travel blog tens times easier. All the media programs like Imovie, Itunes, Iphoto etc… make publishing and keeping track of media files so ridiculously easy. Needless to say, I will never be going back. Check out the video to see how I finalized the transition. I know it’s cheesy. but hey, it gets me traffic!

What is a Freedom Architect?

“Freedom in general may be defined as the absence of obstacles and the realization of ones desires”
-Bertrand Russell (Nobel Prize Winner – Philosopher 1872 – 1970)
The term Freedom Architect describes the new age of digital entrepreneurs who are achieving financial independence through a special set of skills and knowledge that have enabled them to live without concern of time or money, from anyplace in the world.
The drive of the Freedom Architect is not to create money for the sole purpose of buying material things, but to liberate himself from the confines of his individualistic concerns, so he can live the life he or she wants to live, instead of simply working to survive.
In essence, they have achieved the three freedoms of time, money and place for the sole purpose of living out their desires and doing things no one has ever done and taking action where others have only dreamed.
They are focused and clear on their direction and understand that life experience is the father of knowledge, and that true happiness can only come from the ability to live out their passions through the achievement of total freedom.
Their passion is to live an extra-ordinary life. They are intensely independent and individualistic and masters at turning their dreams into reality. A true Freedom Architect paves their on path and refuses to accept somebody else’s set of ideals. They follow their own rules and as a result create amazing lives of freedom and adventure.
“Man is free the moment he chooses to be”

What is The Architecture of Freedom?

What is the Architecture of Freedom?
I once read that words create worlds, and by better understanding the meaning behind certain words, we come to better understand ourselves and the world around us. As a result, we open up new worlds within us.
So, before getting into the attributes that make up the Architecture of Freedom, I think it’s important to fully understand the words that make up this system.
To start, the word “architect” comes from the Latin root word architectura, which roughly translates to “master builder,” “builder,” “carpenter”, “chief,” or “leader.”
While the primary use of the word “architecture” is usually applied to the building environment, the word has also come to signify the discipline and art of creating a plan of any object or system that has many complex parts.
Put in other terms, the word “architecture” defines the structure and/or behavior of any system that is or has been created, whether a building, a musical symphony or series of related ideas.
Boiled to its essence, architecture is the activity of designing or creating any kind of system that preserves the relationships among the elements or components that make up that system.
So then you may ask, what are the elements?
There are many different meanings to the word elements. But in this case we will focus on just one.
The simplest description of the word “elements” is “the essential parts or principles of which anything consists.”
In the example of the Architecture of Freedom, elements are simply the building blocks that when combined make up the system as a whole. This system becomes known as the Architecture of Freedom.
So now that we better understand the words that will make up the Architecture of Freedom, we go back to our original question: what is the Architecture of Freedom?
The Architecture of Freedom is a system of elements each with their own components, that when applied and acted upon are designed to create freedom in one’s life on three distinct levels:
Financial Freedom- having enough automatic income coming into one’s life so as to cover all the expenses that need to be met to achieve one’s primary aim.
Time Freedom- owning one’s time completely through creating systems in life and business that give the owner complete control over their time and schedule.
Geographic Freedom- having the ability to live and/or travel anywhere one desires without restrictions based on the first two freedoms. This is done by starting with the end in mind and creating a business that once built can be operated from any place in the world.
So the Architecture of Freedom is a system of components and building blocks known as elements that work together to create the outcome of the three freedoms stated
above.
There are 7 elements that make up the system. They are as follows:
The element of clarity
The element of direction
The element of vision
The element of creation
The element of action
The element of systemization
The element of realization
Essentially the Architecture of Freedom is a process that takes one from a place of first gaining clarity and understanding of their primary aim to finding and developing a business vehicle that will help them achieve it. This process finally systemizes the business so that it operates profitably without them, thus achieving the three freedoms.
The purpose of this blog is to dissect each of these elements in much more detail to help guide you through this life-changing process. These are the same processes that any business coaching program is going to take you through, and many of them will charge you several thousand dollars. However, you get it here for free. I look forward to interacting with you and helping you on your path to achieving more time, money and freedom.
